This Chianti has a lively and fresh character with aromas of red fruits such as cherries and strawberries. Light floral notes such as violets or roses. Spicy elements like thyme, oregano or black pepper add diversity to the flavour. Because of Tuscany’s rich soils, Chianti wines have earthy notes. It is light to medium bodied, with a good balance of fruitiness, acidity and tannins. The lively acidity is known for its refreshing character and makes Chianti easy to pair at the table.
Region: Tuscany, Italy.
Grapes: Sangiovese 90%, Canaiolo 10%.
Vines: 15-40 years old.
Vinification: Maceration and slow spontaneous fermentation on its own yeasts in glazed cement tanks with regular pump overs and punch downs. Aged in steel and concrete vats, the wine is bottled without filtration.
